WORLDWIDE YOGA ALLIANCE

Ayurveda Practitioner Credentials

Ayurveda Practitioner Credentials

An Ayurvedic Practitioner who registers with the Worldwide Yoga Alliance Registry earns the Ayurvedic Practitioner Credentials of Registered Ayurvedic Practitioner (RAP). The name will be included in online profile on our Directory. The Registry is not a certification program; it is a listing of practitioners who meet our minimum requirements for teaching experience as explained here.

We accept applications for Ayurvedic Practitioner Credentials from teachers who completed their training as explained. We do offer grandparenting options for registration. All conditions must be met. After registration as RAP, you may upgrade your existing RAP credential after meeting requirements. You can verify if your school is currently registered by searching for them on our Directory or writing to us.

Designations for Ayurvedic Practitioners

Our general Credential for Ayurvedic Practitioners is Registered Ayurvedic Practitioner (RAP). Ayurvedic Practitioners who complete a teacher training program at a RAS, or meet our requirements, may apply for registration and use of the RAP credential. That verifies their training and teaching experience meet our requirements.

Ayurvedic Practitioners who meet our requirements can receive a designation based on qualitative and quantitative training and teaching experience.

Grandparenting option is available till May 30, 2016.

Ayurvedic Practitioner Credentials – Continuing Education Units (CEU’s)

All Ayurvedic Practitioners must complete certain minimum Continuing Education Units (CEU’s), per designation, every three years to maintain their registration.

1  CEU = 1 hour

Starting from the initial date of registration with WWYA, every three years, all RAP’s must submit a minimum required number of CEU’s according to the following categories:

  • Ayurvedic Clinical Practice : 45 CEU’s
  • Ayurveda Training: 30 CEU’s.
    • At least 10 CEU’s must be Contact Hours
    • At least 20 CEU’s must be Non-Contact Hours.
    • All hours must be completed under E-RAP’s, directly related to one of the WWYA Educational Categories.

Teaching, Practice or Training hours prior to registration with WWYA may not be counted. You may earn more CEU’s than required CEU’s in a three-year period, but the extra hours may not be rolled over into the next three-year period.
