2017 Scholarships

2016 was a big, happening year for Worldwide Yoga Alliance – this was the year of its launch. In 2017, we’ll be pioneering studies in Yoga and Ayurveda in collaboration with various establishments and accelerating our efforts to protect and promote Yoga and Yogis.

WWYA is awarding scholarships to more number of aspiring Yoga teachers – more than any other Canadian or international organization!

We’ll be awarding a total of 21 scholarships this year!

  • 15 awards of $1,200 each will be available for aspiring yoga teachers. Award of scholarships will be considered under different categories:
    • Canadian Yoga students
    • Special Categories: War veterans, international students, Native Indians, single moms, any other categories permitted by Scholarships Committee.
  • 6 awards of $1,500 each will be awarded to RTY 200’s or E-RTY 200’s looking to hone their teaching skills by attending an advanced training.

That’s $29,000 we’re giving back to the yoga community!

Completed applications have to be submitted by January 31, 2017

Awardees will be notified no later than February 15, 2017.

Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Worldwide Yoga Alliance will award its scholarships for use in starting or deepening an applicant’s yoga education by attending a WWYA registered RSY.

Applicants who demonstrate a need for financial assistance will receive priority consideration. In order to demonstrate financial need, an applicant’s family income must be no more than LICO for the family size, as defined by Statistics Canada.
